Once again, the floral market town of Nantwich throws open it’s doors to over 500 Sealed Knot troops from across the UK to re-enact the English Civil War battle of 1644.

Whether you are a Parliamentarian or Royalist, or simply wouldn’t have a clue about your British history, you really mustn’t miss the first of the large annual events for Nantwich in 2020. Activities and entertainment begin on the Town Square on the RedShift Radio Community Stage and Nantwich Museum at 10am and continue until the grand finale of the battle re-enactment on Mill Island at 2pm.

For over 40 years the faithful troops of The Sealed Knot have gathered in the historic town of Nantwich, Cheshire to re-enact the battle that took place in 1644, marking the end of the siege of the town during the English Civil War. Hosted by The King’s Lifeguard of Foote of the Sealed Knot, every year a small team of volunteers co-ordinates this fantastic event in the award-winning floral market town of Nantwich.

Nantwich Museum events:
10.00am – Civil War tour
10.30 – 11.30am – Musketry demonstration with Sealed Knot
11.30 – 12.30pm – 17th Century music from Forlorne Hope

12.45pm – Sealed Knot troops leave Malbank School to parade along Welsh Row
1.00pm – Troops arrive into Town Centre
1.15pm – Wreath laying ceremony at War Memorial
1.30pm – Troops parade to Mill Island to battle
1.40pm – Troops arrive
1.50pm – Artillery Demonstration
2.00pm – Battle reenactment begins
