Our annual August Bank Holiday event promises to be a fantastic long weekend of historical and battlefield fun – this year’s venue is the stunning Basing House, near Basingstoke!

This event marks the re-opening of the property after a year-long re-development project.

Two magnificent Civil War battle re-enactments will tell the story of the long sieges and final dramatic downfall of Basing House to Oliver Cromwell’s Parliamentary army in 1645. Each day’s programme portrays a different year during which Basing House was under siege, with displays inside and out.

Basing House will be open to the public from 10 am until 6pm (5pm on Monday), with battles at 2pm on Sunday and Monday!

This is the Sealed Knot’s biggest event of the year and will be a really fun weekend for the whole family.
