Marking 50 years of The Sealed Knot

Where: Claydon House, Buckinghamshire
When: 25-26 August

This August, The Sealed Knot celebrates 50 years of bringing the English Civil War to life. Founded in 1968 by Brigadier Peter Young and still Britain’s largest single reenactment group, for five decades the society has commemorated this pivotal moment in British history and is world-famous for its spectacular battle reenactments.

To celebrate this major milestone, the society is staging a special event in the heart of the English countryside, next to the ancestral home of the Verney family, who were key players in the Civil Wars. Expect huge battles, fascinating ‘living history’ and more as we crown our year of events to mark 375 years since the key events in 1643, and also our own anniversary.
