Sergeant-Major General Philip Skippon’s Regiment of Foote of the Sealed Knot is staging a major weekend of commemoration and re-enactment of the Battle of Cropredy Bridge in 1644.

Cropredy Bridge was a ‘come-back’ win for the Royalists, following several reversals earlier in the year – the King’s manoeuvring successfully relieved pressure on his capital at Oxford by leading the Parliamentary forces on a merry dance around the Cotswolds, before delivering a devastating blow. The repercussions proved a massive setback for the Parliamentarian cause, with Sir William Waller’s army severely demoralised and virtually immobilised by desertions.
The Earl of Manchester’s Regiment of Foote is pleased to be supporting what promises to be a fantastic week marking 375 years since the battle.
