With schools closed as part of the coronavirus lockdown, many parents will be home-schooling for the first time.
To support those families looking for educational lockdown activities, the first two of four FREE teaching packs are available to download from the Manchester’s website now.
The packs will support pupils learning about the period as part of Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum but they also include activities that are accessible and fun for younger children too.

This first pack looks at the causes of the English Civil Wars, including the road to war and how religion was one of the causes of the conflict. Plus there are activities for making your own broadside ballads, a wordsearch, and Civil War soldiers to colour in, cut out and turn into a diorama.
The second pack covers ordinary life in England during the 17th Century, including exercises about what school was like, the clothes people wore and the jobs they had, plus the medicines they took, the games they played, and the food they ate.
The other packs will be released over the coming weeks and will cover The Civil Wars in the British Isles and Ireland; and From Republic to Restoration.
These packs are completely free and available to download now!
