In July last year, we joined dozens of other re-enactment groups at Kelmarsh Hall in the Northamptonshire countryside to take part in the huge History Live! event organised by English Heritage – and it got pretty hot!
Earl of Manchester’s Regiment of Foote and the Sealed Knot brought the Battle of Marston Moor to life in a dramatic re-enactment of one of the key battles in the history of the our regiment.
As well as thrilling battles (including a World War Two dogfight over the battlefield!), displays, living encampments from Roman times to the modern, silly jesters, gladiators and jousting, there was non-stop entertainment throughout the weekend and a real festival atmosphere.
Sadly there won’t be a History Live! this year but in 2014 we had a great – if a little hot and sticky – time, so sit back and have a look at a few of the moments from a fantastic weekend!
