When: 10am-5pm, 9 May 2026

Where: Golcar Scout and Community Centre, Manor Rd, Golcar, Huddersfield HD7 4QE

We are delighted to be a part of this annual celebration of life in Golcar. This annual village festival supposedly takes its name from the great Methodist preacher John Wesley, who described the ladies of the village as being “as fair as the lilys of the valley”.

Glimpse life in the 17th Century and the English Civil War with our living history display as we support this great community event!

Re-enactment is a big part of Golcar Lily Day and this year’s line-up includes battling knights, a cowboy shootout, the Dukes at War, the Earl of Manchester’s Regiment, Historia Normannis, Lambtons Regiment and the 33rd Foot.

They will be all on the Manor Road Academy school field and the line-up is:
