It is with deep regret that the Sealed Knot’s Board of Directors have come to the unanimous decision that, due to the exceptional circumstances we are facing of drought conditions giving a high risk of wildfire and the clear advice not to undertake any activity that could start a fire, we have cancelled the ABH muster at Great Tew Friday 28th August to Tuesday 1st September.
In light of recent events, the recent government advice and with the safety of our membership and that of members of the public in mind we have felt compelled to take this difficult decision, particularly given the size and scale of ABH Majors. Even with the possible rain forecasted we cannot be confident that the risk of fire and other associated risks will reduce significantly between now and the Bank Holiday weekend.
We recognise that the Emergency Services are currently overstretched and applaud the wonderful job that they are doing. We do not want to add to the stress and strains on them.
