We just hit our 1,000th post on our Instagram account – and to celebrate we’ve been through and found our top ten most popular images!

Seeing the fantastic photos after an event is one of the joys of reenacting, whether it’s from the middle of a battle or a dedicated photoshoot, and we love sharing these moments on our account over on Instagram.

As well as being able to show us in action, these posts give us the chance to explore some of the very real history of the civil wars, and the captions are packed with details about both warfare and ordinary life during the period.

It’s so much fun to see people enjoy and engage with these photos, and we are indebted to the photographers who have taken such brilliant shots – thanks to every single one of them.

If you’re not following us yet, make sure you head over to Instagram and give us a follow for daily images from the frontlines of English Civil War reenactment!

So without much further ado, let’s dive in with our top ten most popular Instagram posts ever!
