It’s not been easy going back to work after such a fantastic weekend — the May Bank Holiday muster at Deene Park was a real cracker!
@english.civil.war WHAT AN EPIC WEEKEND! 😎💪💥🗡️ It’s that moment of landing back to work with a bump but with sun-kissed skin and achy muscles reminding you of an unforgettable weekend with @The Sealed Knot as a member of the Earl of Manchester’s Regiment of Foote! The Bank Holiday event at Deene Park was a corker – congratulations to Sir William Waller’s Brigade for such a great time! From the sun setting over fields of dandelions to great nights in the beer tent and the thrill of battle, we topped up our batteries in so much ways. We also got to introduce some new recruits to our ranks and they can’t wait to get stuck in again. Come and be epic with us this summer – email us to sign up for fantastic weekends in the past and present with great people! #History #Reenactment #Outdoors #Camping #HistoryTok
We gathered in the bucolic Northamptonshire countryside for a weekend of socialising and battling in the first ‘major’ event of the year. Organised by Sir William Waller’s Brigade of the Sealed Knot, this big event saw hundreds of reenactors bring the 17th Century to life. Of course, it’s not all battle — Bank Holiday Saturday is our ‘free’ day and after catching up with chums in the sun, it was time for SAUSAGE FEST 2026! For reasons best left to the imagination, we decided that a collective meal of bangers and sides was just what we wanted for our evening scran…
@english.civil.war What a SAUSAGE FEST 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It’s May Ban Holiday and what better way to come together for the first major @thesealedknot event of the year than a feast of meat! From artisanal bangers to veggie delights, we came together as a regiment to enjoy a sausage or two, protein-loading before two days of battling at Deene Park in Northamptonshire! Luckily we didn’t need to attend Grange Hill to get any sausages (we all brought our own!) #Outdoors #Camping #SausageFest #Reenactment #GrangeHill
What followed was a packed weekend of socialising in the beer tent, battling, some fun May Pole dancing, sword training, displays of drums and colours, and stunning sunsets over fields of dandelions. On each battling day we were right on the crowdline and this gave us the perfect excuse for some theatrics, whether it was getting rolled over one the first day, a Royalist prisoner execution gone awry on the second, or some rather suspect hugging going on between opposing pikemen! (Heated Rivalry eat your heart out!)
We were delighted to welcome two new members to our ranks at the weekend — Tom and Kelly joined through our website and chose to take out a temporary membership for a ‘taster weekend’. It’s safe to say they took to it like ducks to water, both trying out being musketeers and cannon crew. We hope to see them again very soon!
A huge thanks all the organisers for putting together such a great weekend, as well as our favourite opponents on the field — The Royalist Baggage Trayne, Prince Rupert’s Blewcoats, and the King’s Guard! We returned home with aches, bruises, bags full of washing, and wonderful memories.
@english.civil.war Oops 🤣🤣🤣 When you’re trying to deal with a Royalist prisoner after a battle but you “accidentally” get unalived by your own wife! The audience always loves this little skit, with a Royalist general taken prisoner but his guards finding out the hard way that muskets are very accurate 😂 With thanks to Roxanne Handley for the video. #HistoryTok #Reenactment #History #funny #HistoryLovers

@english.civil.war Which hand contains evidence that it was a GREAT reenactment weekend?? 🤣🤣🤣 The grimy hands of a musketeer means there were LOTS of shots and LOTS of fun. The Deene Park event was a hell of a laugh, from hanging around our campsite with our best friends to being alongside them in the line of battle. That’s the thing about reenactment – it’s about the people as much as it is about the history. Looking for more details about joining in with the fun? Don’t be afraid – we’d love to hear from you! For just £10 you can have a taster weekend with no commitment and all your kit provided. Drop us a line today! #HistoryTok #Camping #Outdoors #Reenactment #SealedKnot
